Wednesday June 7th 2017 @ Mec Charlotte.
American Islamic Outreach and MeckMin collaborated last night to host an Interfaith Iftar/Dinner at MEC Charlotte located on Shamrock Dr.
We had the pleasure of an informative panel of speakers with a very attentive and curious audience.
Our panels of speakers spoke of the following topics:
Ramadan: Our focus on Quran: Haroon Sait: (American Islamic Outreach)
Fasting from a biblical perspective: Fred Robinson (MeckMin)
The purpose of and the benefits of Ramadan: Imam Yayha (MCC Imam):
Many questions regarding the Hijab, The Middle East and Comparisons of Islam and Christianity were asked.
After the discussion, all the guests and hosts dined together for Iftaar with a very delicious meal.
Alhamdulillah, it was so lovely to see a great crowd of different faiths under one roof, eating delicious Rice, Chicken and Baba Ganoush together.
This was a great opportunity for people of different backgrounds and faiths to begin/continue the conversation and form new friendships.
We thank MeckMin with their collaboration and MEC for hosting us with this opportunity and hopefully, we can all make this an annual event.
